Votes for Women! Book Discussions
Co-sponsored by the Albany County League of Women Voters, the Woman’s Club of Albany, and the Women’s Press Club
The Woman’s Club of Albany will collaborate with the Albany County League of Women Voters and the Women’s Press Club of New York State to host a series of book discussions on women’s suffrage.
The program is funded by a Humanities New York (HNY) grant secured by the League. HNY notes the book selections feature books of history, biography and fiction that “provide a window into this chapter of American social progress and a springboard into ongoing discussions of women's — and by extension, our society's — past, present, and future.”
Six sessions are planned between October 2018 and March 2019 on the third Tuesday of the month. Up to 20 participants can be accommodated at each session, and members of the three host groups will be included on a first-come basis. The program anticipates that participants will sign on for the entire six-month program, but coordinators will work to be as flexible and accommodating as possible if members cannot attend all sessions. More information on the program, including the list of books, is available here. There is no charge for the program.
If you are interested in participating in the discussions, whether for some or all of the sessions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (518) 424-6725. We will contact you with further information.
