Our Mission
The mission of the Club is to serve the needs of women and children and offer women opportunities for new social and community connections.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Good Books for Good Works. Along with the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza the Club we raise funds, via book sales, to support a local school's library.
- Collections of various items such as blankets for immigrant families setting up a home, a backpack food program for Albany school children, preparing meals at the South End Children's Cafe.
- The WCA hosts the Capital Region chapter of Together Women Rise which supports programs around the globe to improve the lives of women and children and the SEWS program of Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County, which offers immigrant women an opportunity to learn English while mastering sewing skills.

Social Events
- Member Mondays. Generally the 4th Monday of most months with a potluck supper followed by a program with activity or speaker. Often includes collections of items for our community service partners.
- Tuesdays on the porch or in the parlor. Informal gatherings featuring “a nip or a nosh” brought by members, and sometimes live music.

Family Picnic at Lawson Lake in the fall.
- New Member welcome events.
- Members Only Catered Events such as Cabin Fever Day and our Annual Meeting for Board elections.
Members are entitled to the Following Benefits
- Reduced admission to various educational and cultural programs sponsored or supported by the WCA as well as priority registration.
- Members only Facebook Page.
- Book Club. Meets every other month on the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 pm to discuss books by women authors chosen by the group.
- Rental of our beautiful, historic Club at discounted rate.
Membership Dues
- Enjoy our introductory membership rate of $50* for the year to first time members and our annual New Member Brunch. Membership renews at $90 per year.
- Enjoy discounted student rate of $25* per year.

► To pay by check, complete the online form and mail your check, payable to "WCA", to 725 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. Membership is active upon completion of payment.*Effective March 1, 2024, membership dues paid online include a convenience fee to cover the cost to the club.
If paying by card: $52 for the first year, then $93 annual dues. Student rate $26 annual dues.
